China Genmaicha Organic Green Tea ~ 玄米茶, "brown rice tea"
China Genmaicha Organic Green Tea. Genmaicha tea is a combination of Bancha green tea and roasted puffed rice. Rice was originally added to tea as a filler for the poorer members of society, but has become a popular tea in its own right due to the mild flavour combination of light, grassy green tea and roasted puffed rice. Low in caffeine and high in flavonoids, genmaicha is a healthier alternative to coffee and other teas.
Classic Japanese style Green Bancha with puffed rice and a mild maize taste. Long, pressed leaf.
Brewing time: 1 to 2 min.
Water: 70 - 80 C

China Genmaicha Organic Green Tea 100 grams
This tea is lovely. I only gave it 4 stars because I have had other versions with more brown rice in, which I do prefer.

China Genmaicha Organic Green Tea 25 grams ~ sample pack
I bought this after remembering a rice tea that a Korean friend had given to me some years ago. It’s a nice change from the usual green tea and does not seem as bitter. Personally I would prefer that the brown rice flavour came through a bit more strongly but it is extremely drinkable. The added flavour of the rice gives it a little more substance if you are looking for something a bit more robust.
